Kick off environmental projects financed by European Union in Spain

life_euRepresentatives of the European Commission and Spanish beneficiaries will meet in Madrid to kick off 70 new projects related to nature conservation, biodiversity and the environment in general, co-financed by the LIFE + Programme of the European Union.

This meeting will take place in Madrid in the Representation of the European Commission in Spain.

A total of 248 projects were selected among the more than 1150 submissions from all member countries were submitted to the sixth edition of the LIFE + program. All this represents a total investment of 562 million euros, of which 281 million euros will be EU funds.

Spain has been for the first time in all LIFE + calls, the country with more projects selected of the entire European Union.

These projects cover actions in the fields of nature conservation, environmental policy and governance, and communication and environmental information. The projects presented in Madrid, 11 of them related to the protection of nature and biodiversity and 59 with the protection of the environment, have a budget of nearly € 125 million, of which € 41.5 million correspond to European funding.

A representation of the MIX FERTILIZER project consortium will attend the meeting.
